Alpha Microelectronic Corp made an announcement that a distribution of cash dividend, & a capitalization of dividends, approved by the shareholder’s meeting on June 7,2001.

1. The subscribtion date for the distribution of ex-dividend is August 29, 2001.
2. The company’s transfer book for common shares will be closed from August 25, 2001 to August 29,2000.
3. The paid-in capital before capital increment is NT$371 million for 37.1 million of common shares. The par value of each common share is NT$10.
4. The paid-in capital after capital increment is NT$469 million for 46.9 million of common shares. The par value of each common share is NT$10.
5. The capital increment consists of :
(1) The capitalization of dividends, NT$37.1million, is from retained earnings. The original stockholders entitled to be distributed 100 shares per 1000 shares.
(2) The capitalization of dividends, NT$37.1million, is from capital reserves. The original stockholders entitled to be distributed 100 shares per 1000 shares.
(3) The capitalization of dividends, NT$23.8 million, is from employee profit sharing.
(4) The powers of the capitalization of dividends in year 2001 are the same as the original share.
6. Cash dividend is NT$2 for each common share.
